The ancient art of speaking
The first book on the art of speech was written by (Aristotle) and called it the book (Rhetoric). What is meant by that is that the preacher، if he wanted to deliver something to all people، had to see it، and he relied on improvisation، arranging ideas، and challenging the listeners. Where he relies on his strength in diction، choosing strong words، evoking images، rhetorical and graphic similes، and the most famous preacher of the pre-Islamic era is Qass bin Sa`dah al-Ayadi.

Rhetoric is considered one of the important arts that deal with the mental and emotional side of man. It is the art of persuasion and grooming. Because it clearly focuses on emotion، and it is a connection with others on one side، the preacher communicates a set of information and concepts to the audience listening to him in a convincing and influential manner، and therefore persuasion and influence are considered the most important goal in rhetoric and its main focus. The Almighty said: (Admonish them and say to them an eloquent word about themselves).
Definition of casting
Diction is a group of scattered words، in which the speaker addresses a gathering of listeners. With the aim of persuading them and influencing them، the scholars said: It is the art of speaking to the public to try to win them over and influence them. It means: that the art of recitation is directed to the listeners directly without an intermediary، as the origin of it is the improvisation of the person with prior preparation، and as for the influence and grooming that is found in this definition، it is intended by persuasion، which is the goal of rhetoric، so the preacher must be able to win over people، and know how to direct Their emotions، and influencing their feelings، and this is an important basis of the art of recitation.
